Their mission--The MassHire Greater New Bedford Workforce Board creates & sustains powerful connections between businesses & job seekers through a regional & a Commonwealth-wide network of employment professionals.

Programs Offered Include: 

YouthWorks Summer helps teens and young adults get the skills and experience needed to find and keep jobs. Participants take part in paid short-term work placements during the summer and/or school year at public, private and nonprofit worksites.  (Summer, ages 14 – 24)

Connecting Activities is a partnership with our region’s High School students to support their college and career readiness through a range of career-related activities with the goal of increasing student’s career readiness and academic skill gain. (Annually, ages 14 – 24)

Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Out-of-School Youth (OOSY) improves job and career options for our region's workers and job seekers that connects diverse talent to businesses. Goals of the program include improving quality of the workforce, reducing welfare dependency, and enhancing the productivity and competitiveness of the nation’s economy. (Annually, ages 18 – 24)
