New Bedford Art Museum/ArtWorks! is dedicated to engaging a diverse audience in relevant exhibitions, exemplary education and creative experiences as a vital innovative center

for the arts.

Current Offerings



Early Literacy through the Arts for children ages 0-3 and their caregivers. Mondays & Wednesdays, 9:30-11am at Jacobs Elementary School Family Engagement Center. Open to public & free.

Cool Arts Kids

Offers 2D, 3D, digital art and clay during school vacations and summer vacation. Tuition based with week-long activities,

morning and afternoon sessions. Ages 6-9 and 10-13+.


(Adults & Kids)

Adult class on Thursdays, 6:00-8:00pm and Saturdays, 10:00 - 12:00 pm. Family & Kids class on Saturdays, 2:00pm-2:00pm Tuition based. Registration required.

Site and Group Client

Specific child, adult and senior programming throughout the year. Open to public. Fees vary. Please call ahead and ask for Deb.

Art Parties

for any age group and art medium

Birthdays, team building, bachelorette, retirement, etc. One month advance notice please. Fees are $20.00 per person includes supplies and instruction. Room rental before or after event an additional $25.00 per half-hour



Operates two vans in July and August visiting 20 sites per week. Our schedule is available online. Open to public & free. 

We also will book the Artmobile for events during the weekends in the community. The fee depends on the services required. Call for more information and to book.

Teen Arts Council 

Meets approximately twice a month to engage in leadership, develop

art, career and life skills. Teens

hold meetings and participate in many community events.  It's free and low-income teens receive a stipend for their services.

Rolling admission.

Interview required.

Teen Artist Internship Program

Pairs up teens who want to pursue a career in the arts with artist mentors in the community. The internship runs for nine

weeks and mentors and teens are given an exhibit and reception with a comprehensive brochure on the participants at the end of the program. Open to Junior and High School students. Competitive. Free.
