Nativity Educational Model


The Nativity model is uniquely designed to offer students a range of opportunities and experiences that cultivate their potential while challenging them to engage with greater awareness and understanding of the world around them.
● Weekly art, physical education and health classes
● Required extended school days include athletics (basketball, flag football, and soccer) and a variety of club offerings (CBC, YOU, chess, culinary, volleyball, New Bedford Explorations)
● Tutoring available through the core program and volunteer program
● Weekly faculty-student advising
● Frequent curricular and co-curricular field trips, including approximately 10 free Saturday field trips
● Weekly mentoring program for students
● 100% student participation in community service
● NWEA Maps Growth standardized testing tracks student growth and achievement
● Secondary School Placement counseling for grades 7 and 8
● Ongoing support for alumni.


The Core Curriculum
The core curriculum consists of English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies and aims to help the students make connections across curricular content and apply their knowledge to solve real world problems. Nativity Students are held to high academic and personal standards.
● Students read between 40-50 novels during their time at Nativity.
● In mathematics, Nativity students solve problems, build critical thinking skills, and develop fluency necessary for success with complex material.
● Phenomena-based and aligned with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), the science program includes the Earth, Life and Physical Sciences.
● The study of civics, economics, geography, and history, develops students’ critical thinking, problem solving, evidence-based reasoning, and communication skills so they can successfully engage in the world around them.
